Let’s talk about the new recycling technologies

Let’s talk about the new recycling technologies
Interview with Nikolay Ivanov, Manager of Prime Technologies

Dear Mr. Ivanov, which companies does Prime Technologies represent? What kind of solutions will you showcase at Save the Planet?

Prime Technologies Ltd is an authorized partner of Metso Minerals, the world leading producer of crushing, screening and other equipment for Construction, Mining and Recycling.

Our company is responsible for the Aggregates division presenting the whole range of mobile, semi-mobile and stationary machines, equipment and technology for production of aggregates and construction waste, as well as for  the Waste Recycling division with the range of mobile and stationary pre-shredders and fine shredders for recycling of wide variety of waste: paper, plastic, wood, textile, glass, industrial and household bulk and regular waste. Our company is a partner of NIHOT, part of BHS Group, a leading producer of wind shifters and other machines, equipment and technologies for air separation. Under realization is our plan for enlarging the product portfolio with other supplementary machines, equipment and products needed for the complete process for recycling of different types of waste and we believe we will be able to present some news during the exhibition Save the Planet.

Who would you like to invite to visit your stand?

We will be very happy to welcome on our stand together with our regular customers involved in the business with construction waste also companies busy with industrial and household waste, RDF, landfill operators, project and engineering companies, as well as municipalities and public authorities engaged with the theme. Fairs are normally the place and time to exchange information with other producers and to see the latest news in the business, so our colleagues are welcomed warmly at our stand.

Bulgaria has to reach the target of recycling 70% of construction waste till 2020. Which factors will contribute for its fulfillment and what are your expectations concerning the development of this market segment? Tell us more about your equipment?

On my opinion, the target is ambitious but also quite realistic. There are two factors critical for realization: regulations and control, but also economical relevance. Bulgarian Regulations are harmonized with that target and with the European ones, it is a matter of correct and healthy pressure for implementation and control. Our focus and experience is towards construction waste and we have to mention that the economical relevance and market conditions unfortunately could not support faster development. The market price of the regular aggregates continues to be on very low level because of different reasons - low demand from construction, overcapacity, grey sector, and this fact reflects negatively on the parameters of an eventual investment in construction recycling. We hope that the trend for strengthening of the construction business, particularly infrastructure, combined with continuing efforts against illegal production of aggregates would be crucial for changing the current situation, where we all can see construction waste in landfills, elsewhere even in the nature.

We are proud that the construction waste depot in Sofia, operational since 2007 and by far biggest in the country rely on Metso Mobile Crusher LT1110S. In fact we believe that currently mobile machines provide advantages versus stationary installations. Due the low capacities for construction recycling it is most practical to use a mobile machine on several depots and/or other applications. Impact crusher with magnet separation is the technology proved by experience in the most of the recycling applications and that’s what we recommend to our customers. Lokotrack LT1110 and LT1213 are the Metso mobile impact crushers most suitable for recycling. Both models can be delivered with an installed screen module for (S version) 2 or 3 final products. These machines are very popular on Bulgarian market with its application in quarries, infrastructure projects, they are best seller machines not only in our country, but also worldwide because of their high productivity and low operating costs. The reliable after sales service support organized by co Prime Technologies is another argument for the longest reference list with Metso machines in the country!

What are the new trends in the shredding and separation technologies and what kind of waste your solutions are suitable for?

To be noticed is the progress in technology, machines and equipment for air and optical separation, which determines much wider application than before in different processes. We can say that air separation, partly valid also for optical one, already become an integrated part of majority of installations straight after pre-shredding as a natural second phase of the recycling process. Our co Prime is very happy and proud to offer to the Bulgarian customers the excellent quality, experience but also the latest innovations, incorporated in the superior product range of Metso shredders and Nihot separators – irrevocable part of any recycling installation.
