We have the pleasure to present you updated news about Save the Planet - a platform for knowledge exchange and market exploration of the SEE Region.

The business, state authority and the general public in the Region are increasingly aware of the benefits of recycling and waste management - less environmental pollution, new resource flows, energy saving and creation of new jobs. Due to the big market potential and  business opportunities the 2013 edition is expected to attract more exhibitors, visitors and delegates.

The Exhibition features a strong international presence - companies from Austria, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Denmark, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Poland, Romania and Turkey.

A Weiss plant is most sufficient for small/medium size communities requiring electricity and/or heating by using household and industrial waste as a no-cost fuel instead of stowing/landfilling. Environmentally the best for: Small/ Independent/ Island-/Rural communities, Communities in permafrost

By burning waste products, energy can be recovered, resulting not only in substantial reduction in fossil fuel consumption but also CO2 emission. Flue gas is cleaned by means of the latest techniques in filter systems. Weiss Plants fulfill all national and local emission requirements.

The Association of Cities and Regions for Recycling and Sustainable Resource Management (ACR+)

ACR+ is an international network of cities and regions who share the aim of promoting smart resource consumption and sustainable management of municipal waste through prevention at source, reuse and recycling. Created in 1994 in Pamplona, the association gathers nearly 100 members across 23 countries, mainly local and regional authorities, as well as national networks of local authorities, representing approximately 1400 municipalities.

The organization allows its members to stay in close contact with events and discussions held at the European level, and gives them the opportunity to exchange information and experiences through studies, technical reports, newsletters, conferences and seminars.

ACR+ is also involved in several European projects such as Pre-waste (Interreg IVC) or Miniwaste (Life) or the European Week for Waste Reduction. The association’s recent initiatives include the ACR+ EPR Club, a platform for exchange and debate about extended producer responsibility in Europe; the ACR+ Observatory, focusing on the challenges of waste statistics at local and regional level; and the ACR+MED network, promoting sustainable waste and resource management in the Mediterranean region.
